What’s the difference between counselling and coaching?

Counselling is often needed when dealing with deep-seated emotional or psychological issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or significant life changes. It provides a safe space to explore and address these underlying issues, which might be beyond the scope of coaching.

In contrast, coaching is generally more future-focused and goal-oriented. It helps you set and achieve personal or professional goals, develop skills, and make positive changes in your life. Coaching is often less focused on deep emotional issues and more on practical strategies and accountability.

Ultimately, the choice between counselling and coaching depends on whether you need therapeutic support for mental health and emotional issues (counselling) or guidance and motivation for achieving specific goals and making changes in your life (coaching). Sometimes, individuals benefit from a combination of both, depending on their needs.
